My Personality Test

What My Personality Is

According to a personality test I've taken recently I'm most like the personality of an Otter. This means I'm social, I love people, I have lots of friends, I'm notorious for being messy, and I like to goof off.

Above are the results of my second personality test, which shows that I'm not particularly one way or another on my personality. In other words pretty across the board or not specifically a certain definable way.

Ten Words to Describe Me Animation

Ten Words to Describe Me

I made an animation of ten words that describe me. I did it using image transformations on a video timeline. Then I spaced each transformation out so they come out one at a time. Check out the link on YouTube here.

My Name Animation

Self Drawing Name Animation

How I did it

This was a simple name animation that was done by slowly erasing the name frame by frame backwards, then when put in an animation you flip the frames around so it looks natural.

Arc Bouncing Ball

Arc Bouncing Ball With Shadow

How I did it

I did this by using a 3D image of my name to create a shadow. I then used squash and stretch with an arced path to create the illusion of a bouncing ball being thrown on a 3D version of my name.

Bouncing Ball Project

Bouncing Ball Project

Using squash and stretch I animated a ball bouncing on a black platform. You may realize that the ball looks like its 3D. This because of a shadow effect that I did on the frames of the ball to give it this look. The squash and stretch used on the animation was suppose to give a feel of an exaggerated movement for people to tell what the weight of the ball is and how it moves.

Colleges Monitoring Social Media to Learn more about people applying

College Monitoring Applicant's Social Media

An applicant to Bowdoin College in Brunswick was surprised to learn that the college she was applying for had been monitoring her social media to learn more about her. They do this to try and see if you've been rude or mean online or if you've used drugs and other bad substances to try and look cool on social media. They watch this to see if any applicants are secretly worse than what the college would want to accept.

What things surprised me personally

I didn't understand why people would do dumb things on social media and expect that people wouldn't check it. I was also surprised that the colleges would have the time to check social media at all with all the applicants that they would have to see and review. I don't think people should think of it as an invasion of privacy because its being posted to the public online. This shouldn't be an issue if you keep private accounts on social media or if you simply watch what you post so people accepting your applications to possible jobs, schools, or colleges won't be put off if they try to check on you online.

Things I didn't expect

I didn't think that the colleges would have time to monitor peoples social networks with all of the thousands of applications they get. I think people should've been more aware of who could see what they do online and I was surprised some didn't. People didn't think that they're other actions along with their GPA could effect they're chances which I assumed they would already know.

This article proves that you need to be careful on the internet. It can effect things as big as jobs and getting into colleges. So people should start watching what they do on the internet more so they don't mess up these kinds of opportunities.

Another High School Edit

ONW Edit Number 2

This is the second edit of Olathe Northwest. I thought the shade of blue mixed well with the clouds in the bolded "Northwest."

Logo coming to the blog!

The Skiddly Kook is getting a logo

This is the logo that's general design will represent The Skiddly Kook from now on. Obviously this is not a permanent logo and will be changed as time goes on.

Design Thoughts when making the logo

I wanted to have a clean simplistic logo that still had a recognizable symbol. I wanted it to be easy for people to spot out when they see just the symbol.  I wanted the blue to represent a new and innovative blog for people to find content in. I hope viewers like it and I would love to get your thoughts. Please comment below!

How Does Color Play into Product Sales?

What Color Means

Color is a representation of certain emotions and ideas that we follow or feel when we see this color. Color is recognizable symbol to all people that represent things that we were taught at a young age. This is true for all color through out life. Like red can mean angry or loud, yellow can mean soft or light, and green could be a happy or healthy. Color represents human emotions so seeing them in products should bring out those emotions at least slightly.

Color found in products

Color is used in many products in smart ways to make you want the product or trust that it will do what you want it to do. This is true for products like lotion because you'll notice that bottles aimed for different audiences will have different color and shape.
A Johnson's baby lotion will be light pink and very round to give off a soft warm feel aimed towards mothers who would get it for their babies or children.

While if you see an Nivea bottle of lotion its much taller with a smooth darker blue color to give off a fresh, clean feeling aimed towards adults in general. Each one very different from the other since the target audience has different preferences and reasons on why they want lotion.

What is Graphic design?

What Graphic Design Is

Graphic design is an art we see in our every day lives, its used on things as small as t-shirts or as big as the design for a new art museum. I've always enjoyed graphic design as my favorite type of art because of all the things you can do with it. Graphic design is able to make average every day items into something interesting and eye catching for someone to enjoy. Examples of graphic design are every where, in almost every add, on the cover of almost every book, its a very commonly used art style in our lives that I'm excited to learn how to use.

An example of graphic design is seen in the picture shown
